ADDICTED TO MOMENTUM!!!
I was reminded the other day about the addiction of \”MOMENTUM\” that I see in this industry of Network Marketing and it\’s not uncommon to see it in the Entrepreneurial world… Anyone who has had any experience as an Entrepreneur in the Network Marketing industry with momentum it\’s an exciting place to be, we feel unstoppable, growth comes easy to us, people are entering in your business at a record pace, rank advancements increase and thus our income grows, the rush of excitement sends these endorphins to the pleasure centre of the brain that we want more and more of it. For most Network Marketers who are experiencing Momentum for the first few times they believe its going to last as their income grows their spending habits grows not preparing for when Momentum stops and that my friends is not logical, life happens even the largest company\’s in the world have had times of very slow growth, loss of growth etc… We have all seen the social media posts of leaders in the industry who bombard social media with this excitement shouting out to the world how great the momentum is until one day soon enough those posts simmer down to basically nothing and then a few months or year down the road you find them promoting another company and product searching for that feeling of momentum all over again…. I have actually seen leaders in the industry blatantly promote themselves as \”Start Up Specialists\” which basically means when momentum stops in a year or 2 they are on to the next Start Up. So here is where the ADDICTION to MOMENTUM can be a huge detriment to your longevity of being a successful Entrepreneur in the industry. As I shared above when we experience major growth there is a tendency to increase lifestyle as incomes grow and making financial decisions based on Momentum then when it stops, and there is many reasons why this happens, and many times we as leaders are responsible for this, that\’s for another post….. When the downtime in business happens commission income drops and this is where Network Marketers who over indulged in the spending department without having a saving investment plan start to get concerned and there mind based on the financial pressure starts to focus on the wrong things in the business, blaming the company, the products , their team not working etc… as this continues they are yearning for that momentum again so they can support their lifestyle that the MOMENTUM created with poor lifestyle decisions and that\’s when the weakness in their thinking becomes a major issue as they start looking at what they are seeing on social media with MOMENTUM Posts of other company leaders and then eventually due to their commissions dropping, due to that addiction of momentum they move on thinking the grass will be greener on the other side that maybe that company will be in momentum forever. I have seen many talented entrepreneurs in this industry fall in this cycle of Momentum Addiction where they have gone through this cycle not once not twice but three , four, five times and more and now are out of the industry back in the job world or having to do side hustles like Uber etc… just to make ends meet….. or sadly pitching another business wishing for that MOMENTUM TO COME AGAIN with the same marketing hype words they use the previous 2, 3 , 4, 5, 6 + times this company is in major momentum going to be the next billion dollar company Timing is everything in business get in the ground floor as this is where the big money is made in Network Marketing in 5 – 10 years you don\’t want to be telling yourself that you missed the timing of this Giant this one is a category disrupter millions and billions will be made this has never been done before in the Network Marketing industry this company will change and be the unicorn of the industry ………. Lock-in Your Position on Our Powerline, Binary, Unilevel, Australian one up, Chinese Crazy 5 down Matrix\” Millions will be made without you working & sponsoring!!!! Imagine if they would have in their first or second etc. company fight through this period of slow growth or stagnation and built it again into momentum for long term growth where would they be….. If only I could have been the words of wisdom for them when times get tough this is when the real leadership steps in understanding that there will be dips in the business life happens; to consistently get into a daily routine of simple disciplines of sharing the product and the business and working on yourself daily that will create long term results…. Creating a long term successful business is not easy, but you will ease much pain in your business and life if you stay consistent with your daily method of operation and when sales challenges arise in your business this is where you need to step up as a leader don\’t get distracted and consistently stay focused on your DREAM. There are thousands of stories of successful leaders in this industry all around the world that fought through the pain of a dip in business over and over again to create another momentum in their business by consistently sponsoring new teams and new customers and have won long term financially in this great industry of Network Marketing. How do I know this as I am one of those leaders…… HERE IS A FORMULA I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU MEMORIZE CONSISTENCY + LOYALTY + COMMITMENT to your DREAM = LONG TERM SUCCESSFUL RESIDUAL INCOME You can always tell the \”QUALITY\” of a leader and the longevity of a leader in this industry by judging them not when they are in MOMENTUM but judging them what are they doing and leading when business is not in MOMENTUM…. NETWORK MARKETING LEADS TO DIVORCE!!!
I came home after my first Network Marketing business presentation all excited I manifested the vehicle to my Dreams looked into the mirror and told my self I would never quit or even think about quitting. I would persist until I succeeded…. My next obstacle was my wife I was relatively newly married and had a 1 year old son. I knew that with all my heart that I needed the support of my partner in life however, I could not even imagine the commitment that was needed to succeed. I sat with her and told her that I don\’t need her support but I would love it, I was going to do this and succeed with or without her support. She felt my commitment, my stubborness I was doing it for my DREAMS of our family. She could not say no!!! When I started to travel for business it was not easy leaving her at home with our young kids it was hard on her but I made a promise to her that I would never book a trip more than 7 days and miss any birthdays etc…. For the most part I kept that promise a couple of times due to travel schedules just was not possible. I have witnessed many a divorce in our industry particularly with top leaders and in lieu of high profile Divorces with the Gates and Bezos it is difficult at the best of times to have that balance, here are some reasons why Divorces become an end result in the industry of Network marketing 1) Leaders who had a good to great run of 6 or 7 figure income and then got in to jumping around from company and company trying to regain the income they did in that magical run/financial distress – never attaining the freedom of residual income /financial plan 2) – The 100% support was never given from the beginning and communicated 3) a Family plan of balance. 4) Values of both partners are never communicated and worked on … If you are starting in the industry or you are moving up in rank in your company becoming a 10% income earner your balance in family life will be challenged, many conflicts will come about . Most understand that nothing is more important than family however, when you are driven, when you have fallen in LOVE with your DREAM balance becomes the most difficult thing to accomplish. Suggestions – – Have a serious talk with your spouse, partner like I did share your commitment let them know it\’s important to have their support but you don\’t need it…. – Schedule family time. For example what I did is use my planner from Sunday to Sunday and scheduled my family time with my wife. This was hard to do as I thrived as a spontaneous person but it saved so many Potential conflicts… -travel set a commitment and goal never to be away from home for a certain period and never miss special family events.. Many will say you have to pay the price for success do not make your family pay the price its a simple error in judgement that will catch up to you negatively. – Have a financial plan. What we did is we got to a lifestyle we were comfortable with and invested the rest making more residual income. Many of the toys Network Marketers purchase gets them into trouble as they become losing assets. Most of the time they are purchased to show people they are successful which becomes a simple error in judgement. I saved 10% of my commissions, 10% for my Kids College , put away a percentage for taxes…. we had a 10% fund for fun as a family. Looking back the best investments I made was in the area of exotic family vacations , the countries we visited were FOOD for our marriage and family life.. – Involve your spouse/partner as much as you can even if they don\’t want to be a part of the action part of the business find ways where you can involve them. Every little thing count. – Ask your spouse/partner to write down the top 10 values they have and compare it to yours. This exercise can be a relationship blessing understanding what is important to your spouse/partner. This year my wife and I are celebrating our 33rd anniversary most of them have been in my network marketing career we know nothing else, our marriage has thrived in all ways and I attribute that to the steps I have shared above.
A BIG CLUE!!! CLEAN YOUR CAR!!!
For over 20 years I have volunteered for the Good Shepherd organization on their Saturday soup kitchens and their Christmas store. Families & individuals in need would register for the store and at an allotted time they would go throughout the store and choose food, toys, clothes etc… Since I was usually the youngest volunteer it was my job to carry the boxes from their shopping spree down a flight of steps and into their cars. I began to notice car after car that I loaded over the years were filthy dirty in most cases it looked like the cars had never been clean before. I could not help the thought or try not to judge, but I just imagined what their houses looked like and maybe it was a glimpse into why they were struggling in their finances. Before any of you take this post personally, please keep in mind I had loaded over the years thousands of cars, my observation did not come in a small sample size. Furthermore, a few years ago I was going to do business with a Real estate agent in investing in a few homes with her. I met her at her house and we jumped into her car and I was aghast the car was filthy with weeks old coffee cups & wrappers, her back seat was full of papers. She explained that she was using her car as an office as she probably saw the expression on my face. That was the deal breaker for me, if she allowed her car to be this messy what other things in her life she kept messy. You may not think that a clean car is important but it can be a reflection about you and your life in many areas.. When you respect your belongings particularly your biggest assets like a car that energy will continue through out your life in a big positive way. Always keep in mind the energy that exudes from you and what you own will always revert back to you in one way or another…

Building YOUR Business Foundation
Last December 2019 I was in the beautiful city of Trujillo, Peru the first of 4 city\’s on my Peru Road Show events. The local leadership team invited me to visit a buried ancient city Chan Chan that was found in the early 80\’s. The city was the capital of the Chimú kingdom (c. ad 1100–1470) and the largest city in pre-Columbian America. As we walked into the burial tombs where all the Royals of that society were buried. All the Gold, Silver Diamonds, etc. that were buried with the Kings, Queens, and Royal subjects were pillaged by the Spaniards. It was typical behaviour by the Spanish settlers when they found anything that was valuable they would do anything possible to secure the possessions even kill, and then they would send the wealth back home to the mother land Spain… Today Latin America, Mexico to the southern tip of Argentina I believe is still paying the price for this. Let me explain…. When you compare Canada and USA prosperity of its average citizens to Latin America there is a significant difference. It\’s really not logical, they are on the same side of the planet, settled by basically the same people Western Europeans and have similar resources. I believe the difference in the 2 society\’s came when the foundation was created. In Canada and the USA the settlers primarily came here looking for a home this is why we celebrate Thanksgiving where as Latin America the Spaniards and the Portuguese primarily came looking for wealth and they certainly founds lots of it and sent it back home. Today it seems that energy that was created is still permeating in both continents… Keeping this in mind when you start your Network Marketing business or any business in general the energy that you start with will effect your future success or failure. Energy will always permeate for years. I believe 100% because I had fallen in Love with my DREAM then attracted Network Marketing as my vehicle to my Dreams my foundation of my business was unbreakable and it led me to a life of Prosperity and Abundance….. I have seen so many who start for the wrong reasons (bad foundation), or they will try to see if it works, they are looking for wealth, and easy fix to their financial problems etc… It\’s not possible to have a strong foundation in your Business if you have not fallen in Love with your DREAM!!!! It\’s September 2009 I just landed in Moscow, Russia, it was my first time in Russia. I did not know what to think about Russia all I knew we were growing a big team in Pre-Launch phase and had several committed leaders. As I was patiently waiting in the customs line I was focused on how Grateful I was to have this upcoming experience… So now it is my turn finally I go up to the window and show my passport…. which has my Russian Visa glued to one of the pages. Suddenly he calls someone and the Gentlemen asks me what I am doing in Russia… I quickly stated I was seeing some friends…. and wanted to see the beautiful city of Moscow plus had some business meetings… He then points to my visa and points to the expiry DATE… OMG it shows that I need to leave in 2 days. My plan with the leaders was to stay for 9 days they were all extremely excited I made this commitment, they were waiting for this trip from me for over a year. Many events planned my schedule was jammed pack. Its an obvious error by the Russian Consulate in Toronto. The officer tells me emphatically, he can\’t extend it and I need to leave Russia in 2 days …. I can\’t believe this, what I am going to do, I made a promise. I have come to learn as a leader you never break your promises, no excuses. I have seen to many times leaders who make promises and break them because at the time they want to tell people what they want to hear. In all cases not following through with your promises will destroy the biggest of teams. When Trust is lost more than likely you can never get it back…. The consequences of this now starts to permeate through my entire being, I know if I leave in 2 days more than likely I will lose this team, if I extend my trip past the visa expiry date there is a great chance I get arrested and thrown into jail. Growing up in North America we all are programmed into believing the Russian state is brutal, so the fear is so outrageous now I need to gather my self and focus on a solution. So I gather my bags and walk out of the baggage department a group of women leaders are there to greet me with flowers and a loud ovation their energy is so infectious, it caused a major scene. I could not help but think , the people all around observing this were all wondering who is this guy getting greeted like this by all these beautiful strong women….. As I get to the Hotel I sit down with the main leader Elena and I tell her my predicament, she responds in her broken English \”Joe you can\’t leave, it will destroy all our work the previous year\”. I ask what will happen to me if I stay passed my visa expiry date. She does not know….. Right then and there I made the choice, I am thinking to myself I made a promise and I will not break it, no excuses, I always follow through. So no matter the consequences I will honour it.. The 9 days were incredible( although it was difficult I tried not to think about the fear of the unknown and believe it was major fear) the team exploded with the help of my European leaders Tomas & Garth who had driven the market with their visits, Russia became a monster for us. No matter what the excuse, no matter how difficult things become, never break your promises to your team…. One of the top 3 leadership reasons organizations fall apart. I have personally witness teams into the 6 figures that have crashed and burned.. Our greatest asset in Network Marketing is our organization, always keep in mind it is very FRAGILE even in the best of times….
PERCEPTION = $$$$
DEFINING MOMENT!!!! In 1998 5 years into my NM career I was starting to see my Dreams come true all was good and then the company started to struggle with cash issues which created back orders on products and a plethora of other challenges. So the President of the company decided to have an interactive conference call with all the top leaders to give an insight on what was going on along with the solutions moving forward. By the 30th minute mark I started to wonder if I was on a another \”company\” call, I could not believe the amount of negativity regarding even the smallest of issues. I truly thought that all these other leaders were crazy as their perception on what was going on was so detrimental to their business, to their life… and so totally different to mine. I started to wonder for a brief second if my Perception was completely wrong and I was the crazy one as I certainly was in the minority … 21 years later all these leaders except for me and 1 other person, very talented people who were 6 figure income earners are for the most part no longer in the industry. That is what I call a clue. This was a major Defining moment in my career I could have easily bought into the \”majority\” thought process but I did not, thank God I did not as the universe had even greater abundance and prosperity coming my way . Perception is an interesting concept the way we see things will certainly be a difference maker on what we attract in our business and our life . I never buy into negative opinions especially if they have a dooms day thought process behind it. I only see prosperity, abundance that everything will always work out. In 1998 most of those leaders told me that I had my head in the sand that I was the crazy one. Well time either promotes you or exposes you. Predict your future by seeing only abundance and prosperity and that every challenge every situation is the universe working in perfect order to fulfill your DREAMS.
Who is Whispering in YOUR EAR???
Many years ago I had a defining moment in my NM career which changed everything for me. It was so clear to me, if I wanted to change personally where I was financially, my lifestyle, my relationships, I needed to do this! I stopped taking financial advice from people that were broke. I stopped taking advice from people who never build a serious residual income in 1 company for more than 5 years. I did not care if a person went to the top of 5 different companies in 10 years, I wanted to build a long term walkaway business with 1 company… I stopped getting health tips from unhealthy people. I stopped taking relationship advice from people with toxic or boring relationships and I stopped looking for spiritual guidance from people that couldn’t demonstrate to me that they were attracting what they were preaching. It sounds pretty simple doesn’t it? But take a look at how often you take advice from people who don’t walk the talk. How many times have we seen people in our industry get excited when they started their business only to quit a few days later because they spoke to their broke family member who never had any history of success in business. How many times have we seen so called leaders tell people they have found a home as part of their marketing story and a year later they found another home and then another home or that they have hit the greatest company in the world, greatest compensation plan for the umpteen time… I follow the rule that “if they don’t SHOW it, they don’t KNOW it” and I learned to stay away from these people like they had the plague particularly when I was trying to establish myself in the industry of Network Marketing. We certainly have an epidemic in the business world where people are professing that they are the experts, they have learned to brand themselves real well. I am all for branding yourself it is good marketing strategy, but keep in mind be careful who you are taking advice from. Instead, I found people who had manifested what I desired and ask them for help. These are what we call mentors. It is critical in the business world, particularly in Network Marketing to have a coach/mentor. When You surround yourself with the best you become the best. Why Can\’t I make more money?
Due to my Global business I have been fortunate to travel to multiple countries, I am actually closing in on 50 countries. No matter where I have gone, the number one struggle that I consistently see is the struggle of money. Making more money is on everyone\’s minds & wish list. Affirmations is definitely something that has worked for me and countless of others that I have mentored Affirmations like: \”Money flows to me easily\” \”Money comes to me from different sources\” \”I open myself to abundance and wealth\” \”I receive wealth and abundance everyday\” I coach my team to not only state these affirmations, but also write them down, and put them all over the place to remind you that you\’re manifesting wealth. Does this simple exercise work for everyone well I wish I could say yes. Well let me share with you why it may not work for you. You think about making money and you wonder why you\’re not getting ahead. Then the negative thoughts come up… thoughts like: It\’s hard to make money. There are no good ways to make money. I have to work hard and give up too much. Then you go back to thinking about manifesting wealth and you work with the affirmations again… but still nothing changes. And it never will. At least not until you change what\’s on your subconscious mind. When it comes to making money or manifesting wealth you\’ve planted instructions on your subconscious mind. Those instructions are your thoughts and beliefs about money which are wired to your subconscious. It simply follows those instructions. So even if you want to manifest wealth, and even if you say your affirmations, nothing will change until you change the wealth instructions that you\’ve planted on your subconscious mind. As soon as you do that you\’ll begin to truly manifest wealth. You\’ll attract the right opportunities to make money. You\’ll meet the right people who will help you make more money. You\’ll make the right choices. You\’ll manage your money better. And you can do that as soon as you change the wealth program that\’s on your subconscious mind You want to manifest wealth. You should manifest wealth. You keep trying but when nothing works it\’s a clear sign that you have a number of blocks on your subconscious mind. These blocks prevent you from making and having more. They need to be removed. They need to be replaced with clear paths to manifesting wealth. And you can have as much as you want and even more. Simply remove those blocks that prevent you from manifesting wealth. Get rid of the negative thoughts and negative beliefs that stop you from making more money.
