MULTIPLE STREAMS OF INCOME
There is a segment of the Network Marketing industry that today still promotes this concept of Multiple Streams of Income…. The pitch is that you cannot rely on just one income just incase one company goes out of business etc.. therefore you need a plan A and a Plan B company. In theory it is a logical concept, lets dissect this… I am now in my 31 st year of this great industry of Network Marketing so for 99% of my adult life this is all I have done as a career…. I have never met someone or seen someone who has succeeded building 2 network marketing company\’s to success and keeping that success over a long period of time. I call that a clue….. There is a number of reasons for this….. #1 is focus.. Years ago I was having Archery lessons and had a hard time hitting the centre of the target. The instructor came over to me sensing my frustration and told me that I needed to quiet my mind and just focus on the target. Well it did not take me long after this advice to hit the centre of the target… I tapped into the Power of Focus – what we focus on the most in our life we will attract. Building 2 Network Marketing company\’s at the same time takes away from our focus creates challenges in what business should I share with this person? Other Growth challenges would include our time and when we should focus on X Business and Y Business. Success in Business takes 100% all in attitude and focus without it you will never succeed. #2 Organization. If you have your organization doing more than 1 company it will become disastrous for most people it is so hard for them to create habits of disciplines that distractions for the masses always win. Building 1 company and getting to the top takes a 100% commitment of focus and daily disciplines. Without it failure is sure to be the end conclusion. #3 Leadership…When you build a sizeable organization in leadership people are always watching what you do… Belief in a product , the leadership, the company, the business model is critical for an organization to flourish so if the team members see their leaders building other company\’s in the industry it will strike at the heart of belief & so many negative questions will arrive from this. A good example of this is occasionally my social media profiles are duplicated by unscrupulous people and immediately due to the size of my organization and reputation as a leader I get text messages notifying if I was the one that sent that message regarding another business… These people know 100% I would never do such a thing however, let\’s say if that was the truth immediately it would squash the belief in my company. Belief Questions would arise why would Joe join this company, whats wrong with the our company etc….. Another great metaphor would be that you and your spouse build a beautiful family and he/she finds out that you have another family that you have been building at the same time what do you think will happen? The Foundation of Belief, Faith, hope the Dream of a future will all disappear. I will end with a true story a number of years ago I enrolled a very talented leader in the industry he ticked off all the boxes in terms of a person that could be an incredible long term successful distributor. Due to his previous experience in the industry he was with a company that he hit one of the top ranks and build a sizeable organization, eventually that company imploded in the markets he was doing business in and failed to pay him tens of thousands of dollars in commissions. So he bought into the multiple streams of income mindset where he needed a Plan A and a Plan B company, to prevent this from happening in the future. I sold him on my company that we would open in the markets where he had the most influence. Despite me knowing he was participating in other company\’s my plan was that I was going to influence him enough where he would buy into my philosophy. As his organization started to explode I had numerous conversations with him about his other company\’s and that he needed to make a decision on focus and that when his leaders found out he was doing something else it would create many leadership challenges. He responded that he was a professional and he knew what he was doing no body would find out… Sure enough his team leaders started to contact me and let me know about his other business and they were upset. They did not want him in their market again that they were worried if others in the organization would take on that philosophy in building and it would destroy their business. Make a long story short we had our last conversation on this topic by that time it was too late as the company needed to enforce the policies (Ultimately this is where the multiple streams of income concept ends..most all company\’s in the industry have strict policies for leaders with this type of behaviour any complaint about cross recruiting or any sniff of it company\’s will enforce the policy) as there was some overlap which he desperately tried to prevent on cross recruiting… A year later he had messaged me that I was right and he had understood now the consequences of this Multiple streams of income mindset and it did not work got to be 100% focused on going to the top in one company…. That organization by the way has done millions in sales. My definition of what is \” True multiple streams of income\” is take your income you are making and reinvest into your business, into safe proven stocks and
ADDICTED TO MOMENTUM!!!
I was reminded the other day about the addiction of \”MOMENTUM\” that I see in this industry of Network Marketing and it\’s not uncommon to see it in the Entrepreneurial world… Anyone who has had any experience as an Entrepreneur in the Network Marketing industry with momentum it\’s an exciting place to be, we feel unstoppable, growth comes easy to us, people are entering in your business at a record pace, rank advancements increase and thus our income grows, the rush of excitement sends these endorphins to the pleasure centre of the brain that we want more and more of it. For most Network Marketers who are experiencing Momentum for the first few times they believe its going to last as their income grows their spending habits grows not preparing for when Momentum stops and that my friends is not logical, life happens even the largest company\’s in the world have had times of very slow growth, loss of growth etc… We have all seen the social media posts of leaders in the industry who bombard social media with this excitement shouting out to the world how great the momentum is until one day soon enough those posts simmer down to basically nothing and then a few months or year down the road you find them promoting another company and product searching for that feeling of momentum all over again…. I have actually seen leaders in the industry blatantly promote themselves as \”Start Up Specialists\” which basically means when momentum stops in a year or 2 they are on to the next Start Up. So here is where the ADDICTION to MOMENTUM can be a huge detriment to your longevity of being a successful Entrepreneur in the industry. As I shared above when we experience major growth there is a tendency to increase lifestyle as incomes grow and making financial decisions based on Momentum then when it stops, and there is many reasons why this happens, and many times we as leaders are responsible for this, that\’s for another post….. When the downtime in business happens commission income drops and this is where Network Marketers who over indulged in the spending department without having a saving investment plan start to get concerned and there mind based on the financial pressure starts to focus on the wrong things in the business, blaming the company, the products , their team not working etc… as this continues they are yearning for that momentum again so they can support their lifestyle that the MOMENTUM created with poor lifestyle decisions and that\’s when the weakness in their thinking becomes a major issue as they start looking at what they are seeing on social media with MOMENTUM Posts of other company leaders and then eventually due to their commissions dropping, due to that addiction of momentum they move on thinking the grass will be greener on the other side that maybe that company will be in momentum forever. I have seen many talented entrepreneurs in this industry fall in this cycle of Momentum Addiction where they have gone through this cycle not once not twice but three , four, five times and more and now are out of the industry back in the job world or having to do side hustles like Uber etc… just to make ends meet….. or sadly pitching another business wishing for that MOMENTUM TO COME AGAIN with the same marketing hype words they use the previous 2, 3 , 4, 5, 6 + times this company is in major momentum going to be the next billion dollar company Timing is everything in business get in the ground floor as this is where the big money is made in Network Marketing in 5 – 10 years you don\’t want to be telling yourself that you missed the timing of this Giant this one is a category disrupter millions and billions will be made this has never been done before in the Network Marketing industry this company will change and be the unicorn of the industry ………. Lock-in Your Position on Our Powerline, Binary, Unilevel, Australian one up, Chinese Crazy 5 down Matrix\” Millions will be made without you working & sponsoring!!!! Imagine if they would have in their first or second etc. company fight through this period of slow growth or stagnation and built it again into momentum for long term growth where would they be….. If only I could have been the words of wisdom for them when times get tough this is when the real leadership steps in understanding that there will be dips in the business life happens; to consistently get into a daily routine of simple disciplines of sharing the product and the business and working on yourself daily that will create long term results…. Creating a long term successful business is not easy, but you will ease much pain in your business and life if you stay consistent with your daily method of operation and when sales challenges arise in your business this is where you need to step up as a leader don\’t get distracted and consistently stay focused on your DREAM. There are thousands of stories of successful leaders in this industry all around the world that fought through the pain of a dip in business over and over again to create another momentum in their business by consistently sponsoring new teams and new customers and have won long term financially in this great industry of Network Marketing. How do I know this as I am one of those leaders…… HERE IS A FORMULA I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU MEMORIZE CONSISTENCY + LOYALTY + COMMITMENT to your DREAM = LONG TERM SUCCESSFUL RESIDUAL INCOME You can always tell the \”QUALITY\” of a leader and the longevity of a leader in this industry by judging them not when they are in MOMENTUM but judging them what are they doing and leading when business is not in MOMENTUM…. PERCEPTION = $$$$
DEFINING MOMENT!!!! In 1998 5 years into my NM career I was starting to see my Dreams come true all was good and then the company started to struggle with cash issues which created back orders on products and a plethora of other challenges. So the President of the company decided to have an interactive conference call with all the top leaders to give an insight on what was going on along with the solutions moving forward. By the 30th minute mark I started to wonder if I was on a another \”company\” call, I could not believe the amount of negativity regarding even the smallest of issues. I truly thought that all these other leaders were crazy as their perception on what was going on was so detrimental to their business, to their life… and so totally different to mine. I started to wonder for a brief second if my Perception was completely wrong and I was the crazy one as I certainly was in the minority … 21 years later all these leaders except for me and 1 other person, very talented people who were 6 figure income earners are for the most part no longer in the industry. That is what I call a clue. This was a major Defining moment in my career I could have easily bought into the \”majority\” thought process but I did not, thank God I did not as the universe had even greater abundance and prosperity coming my way . Perception is an interesting concept the way we see things will certainly be a difference maker on what we attract in our business and our life . I never buy into negative opinions especially if they have a dooms day thought process behind it. I only see prosperity, abundance that everything will always work out. In 1998 most of those leaders told me that I had my head in the sand that I was the crazy one. Well time either promotes you or exposes you. Predict your future by seeing only abundance and prosperity and that every challenge every situation is the universe working in perfect order to fulfill your DREAMS.
Compensation Plans
Compensation plans for the most part are overrated when it comes to building a long term residual income. What is real important though is the culture you build within your company\’s compensation plan. Basically 4 types of plans have dominated the industry – the first 2, I would refer to them as Socialistic plans – Unlevel, Matrix (only 1 company has made it work for more than 10 years). The primary purpose of these plans is too basically help distributors make enough money so their product could be paid from their commissions. The other 2 plans I would refer them to be Capitalistic plans they are the Breakaway MLM plan (Most all the old legacy and pioneers in the industry have this plan) and the Binary plan. Over the last 15 years of Network Marketing majority of the company\’s that have launched have started with the Binary Compensation Plan with a hybrid addition. The biggest reason new companies have decided on the Binary Plan it has the \”Capitalism qualities\” of the Old Breakaway comp plan with regards to paying the top 5%- 10% + the companies that have added the hybrid versions which has some of the socialistic parts of the UniLevel and Matrix plans… Unfortunately though it is a plan that lends it self to developing a poor or weak organizational culture which will lead to the eventual downfall of the company. Most everyone who starts in the Network Marketing industry from a business perspective really was sold on the benefits of residual income and the freedom that comes from this lifestyle . Frankly the Culture of an organization and or a company is critical to this Freedom. We all know if we build a home on a weak foundation that house at the first sign of any major weather adversity will fall down. So keeping this in mind your Business organization future will only grow and stay growing if the foundation is built with the right principles. Now that you have an understanding on why it is so important to have a Strong Foundation lets look at how the Binary compensation plan is critical to this Foundation. As I shared above the Binary Plan really lends itself to absolutely Culture killing long term killing, company killing DO NOT DO\’S… Never allow placements above organizations already built ( this leads to fake integrity killing rank advancements and recognition). How would you feel if someone was placed above you after a year earning off of your organization? Exactly!!!!! How would you feel if you found out your superstar upline who qualified at the top rank in 10 months only built one leg? Of course your respect for her would definitely change. Power Leg Principle – This creates weakness no organization will ever grow long term on weak principles. Strength should always be your #1 Goal. Tell everyone who joins and teach this they need to build 2 legs and treat spiliage as a blessing.. Every other comp plan in the industry forces you to go wide and you rarely get any help. In a Binary all you have to do is build 2 legs, always remind yourself this. Take the Power Leg completely out of your vocabulary and your teams vocabulary. Placing people under people in the Binary for the purpose of getting them excited or enticing them into the business should not be your focus. You should always structure keeping your business in mind, be very clear on how you get paid. You will never be able to help your team unless you help yourself first . There is a reason on a Airplane they teach you in case of emergency always put the Oxygen masks on yourself first before helping someone else….. Probably the next question that most who read this will ask \”What if my company allows special Placements\”? Well all I am telling you with 100% accuracy that eventually it will be the downfall of the company, history has proven this. Integrity is essential for your foundation of your business when company\’s are recognizing LEADERS for something they did not do or LEADERS who are excepting these rank advancements and being recognized on stage without disclosing the details, will create major issues of trust, belief, and disrespect… Ask yourself this question \”Is it deceiving the organization?\” Is Deceit a principle of weakness or strength? The Binary Compensation Plan is definitely a powerful Captalistic plan with the added benefits of the Socialistic parts of the UniLevel and Matrix but when applied incorrectly it will destroy a company and distributorships from within.. 2 types of Builders in the Industry of Network Marketing
There are 2 types of builders in Network Marketing!!!! Now and Later Builder!!!! A \”Now\” Builder is one who is consistently drawn towards pleasing activities, immediate gratification and pleasure, they are some of the greatest recruiters in the industry. They are spending money as fast as they are making it. They have a very hard time building when things get tough when momentum disappears, they end up disappearing…. Loyalty and commitment are their weaknesses. A \”Later\” Builder, on the other hand, is drawn toward pleasing RESULTS instead of pleasing ACTIVITIES. They often have less than pleasing activities in the moment. They invest their time in taking care of their health, working extra hours to accomplish a worthy goal, reading good books, taking additional training to improve their lives and their business. They hang out with people who can stretch their thinking, they themselves follow through, take action, take risks and are comfortable with being uncomfortable. Their strengths are loyalty, commitment, empathy…. When the going gets tough they get tougher this is when their leadership abilities are defined…. Which of these two groups of people do you identify with? Beware of becoming seduced by taking the easy way of the \”Now\” person. They are very prevalent in society and Network Marketing… Mastery of long term residual income comes to those who are willing to accomplish less than pleasing activities in the moment that are necessary for the attainment of a long term goal.
The Championship LIFE can be YOURS!!!!
In my Network Marketing career it has led me to travel the world to more than 50 countries, meeting tens of thousands of interesting people, it has open my world to incredible personal development studying Great Teachers like Bob Proctor, Robert Anthony, Anthony Robbins, and the Iconic Teachings of Jesus, Budda etc.. More importantly though it has crafted my Philosophy of life, Philosophy of getting Results/Success. Which is a great segway to this months blog, what is really the difference maker to your success in your business, to your life? I really believe it comes down to your Energy Level!!!! The higher you vibrate with your energy level (I am not talking about rah rah, I am talking about focusing on what you want, be happy, be respectful, think great thoughts, this raises your energy to the point where you make more money, this is what essentially falling in Love with your DREAM is all about) Money will flow to you easily and effortlessly. But how do you go about raising your energy? In the graph below – 0% represents no energy and 100% represents maximum energy. 0%—————–25%————–50%————–100% If someone is at 0% energy, then they are dead not growing. Unfortunately, many people are living just above 0% energy. How many Prospects have you talked to in the past that fit this level and that you are continuing to chase hoping they will join you in your business? At the other end of the graph, 100% represents the highest positive energy available. As you move up the scale, you will have more of the good things in life because you are vibrating and evolving at a higher level and this only happens by 1 – Being ALL IN 100% Focus then determining what you want/crafting your Dream and then falling in LOVE with it, 2 – Surrounding yourself with the right people and 3 – Feeding your mind with greatness on a daily basis which leads to greater thoughts and thus great actions and then it leads to greater results. The higher up you move on the scale, the more easily you will be able to attract great things into your life without it being blocked. Your energy level not only attracts money into your life, it attracts everything else, including other people. If you have a very dense or low level of energy, you are going to manifest that same energy you are projecting. In other words, you will attract people and relationships into your life that have the same low level, dense energy. Have you ever seen a depressed and negative person succeed long term. Want more money please read and really pay attention to my words, increase your vibration level you will make more money then you ever thought was possible for yourself. I look at our million dollar earners and very successful people in other industry\’s, you see a pattern of positive attitudes, positive action, positive emotions and thus positive results. Negative attitudes, confrontational attitudes, fear, jealously, unhappy thoughts etc.. is what the masses focus on and thus the reason why they are stuck due to their focus, consequently they are not moving forward and never will attract abundance and prosperity. Recent research in Brain Science has found now 75% -98% of disease is caused by our Toxic habitual thoughts… If that does not wake you up you might want to check your pulse…. Stop right here and think about this because it is a key point to opening the flow of money into your life. When you fully understand this you will see the whole world differently. We can sum it up this way – if you raise your energy level, you will raise your income in your business I promise you. How can I make that promise? Well in June 23 1993 I walked into a meeting room at the Sheraton Hotel in the east end of Toronto, I watched a very successful man after his training, people gravitated to him in droves, just looking at him and watching him there was something different about him, these were my exact thoughts that day. When I figured it out, I understood the secret to his success and all I did at the age of 25 I started to do the same,which led me to a life of great success, prosperity and abundance. Creating Results in your LIFE!!!!
A Couple of years into my Network Marketing career I stumbled upon a defining moment in my business that changed everything I realized instead of gearing my coaching and mentoring in teaching just the basics I started to focus on helping people raise their consciousness. When people in your organization raise their consciousness they will always figure out how to do the rest. When you have a team that is focused on personal development and you build that within your culture great things start to happen. A community of greatness will spread like a wildfire. Here is the challenge in this process is most people habitually are focused in the \”rear view mirror\” which prevents them from growing their Conscious level. It\’s like bending a hose the water will never flow, this is what happens to your success energy if you don\’t break through this destructive habit. Focusing on the way you want your life to be when things are not going your way in the present moment, is not the easiest thing to do. But if you have the determination to focus your attention especially in your business as your want it to be, rather than as it is, your income will change dramatically. When one understands this power of focus on today in the moment you will begin to notice the universe will start to respond to your desires, little coincidences that are not a coincidence appear you will then start to let go of everything and anything that is not part of your new vibration which is your focus/Your DREAM.. I can clearly go back into my life and see life changing moments for me where when I got in this mindset I let go of grudges, mistakes ,ex business partners, complaints, ill wishes, bad behaviour etc… At this point you will start searching for the things that serve you, you will come up with great new ideas, your thoughts will build momentum which will be evidence of the new you!!!! The greatest blessings I have received in my NM career is the number of countries I have visited (more than 50 now) probably have trained into the hundreds of thousands, these experiences have really led me to believe we are here to create as Creations of God and we are definitely worthy of every idea that comes to US. God Does not make JUNK!!! There is no greater creator than you and no greater reason to create than the things you desire in your life. Believe me the closer you get to your \”source\” which expands when you Fall in Love with your DREAM, the Greater Joy you will experience in your Life. So your source your internal guidance system, holy spirit whatever you want to call it will tell you that you are off track by how you feel. My desire and my passion is to help others think enough of themselves to feel good and do whatever it takes to feel good, that way you will have the ability to manifest your DREAM fast despite whatever is happening around you. With every thought you think and with every desire you give birth to the universe expands. And it is only through your joyous quest that all is possible. God Does Not Make Junk!!!! Making 2013 your BEST YEAR EVER!!!
This is one of my older most popular posts and I believe life changing. All the best in 2013… Making 2013 your best year ever I put a lot thought and effort on my last post of 2012, I hope you know it is coming from a place deep down in my soul!!! It is my longest blog post but entirely worth the read, I guarantee you. Enjoy!! How do I make 2013 my best year ever? Around this time of year I am consistently getting this question. To me the question is really easy to answer but probably not what you expected. To make 2013 you need to change your philosophy, change your Paradigm. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” James Allen began his book with that aphorism more than eighty years ago. As a student of the power of thought – I believe the book is more relevant today, than it was when it was first written. In my first number of years in this industry, I used to think the most important things to teach my people were prospecting and training strategies. But I couldn’t understand why after they learned them, they didn’t do something more with them. Then I came to realize that there were all sorts of mental blocks holding them back. Fear of failure, low self esteem, fear of rejection, feelings of unworthiness, and the biggest one–fear of success. I came to understand that to build a large growing network, it was critical to include a personal development program in the equation. So now, I work on helping people discover and put into action their innate personal power. This is what has the potential to transform your business and life. Thus the reason I launched www.steamteam.ca It’s pleasing to your ego to assume your group is not growing because of outside factors and other circumstances. It’s very convenient to blame your lack of progress on your company’s compensation plan, the price of the products, timing, the area you live and a host of other external factors. But the truth is, you are reaping the results of your thoughts. Your suffering is the result of your negative, greedy or lazy thoughts, just as the blessings in your life are the results of your positive, kind and loving thoughts. This is an immutable, unshakable universal law… You cannot change your thoughts without changing your life. In either direction. Fortunately, you can pick the direction. You follow the thoughts you allow yourself to be dominated with. Program your mind with Jerry Springer and reality TV and you’re certain to lead a life of victim-hood, lack and limitation. Program your mind with the fertile stuff of “As a Man Thinketh,” “The Magic of Thinking Big,” and “Think and Grow Rich,” “Science of Getting Rich” all which can be downloaded for free on www.steamteam.ca and you’ll be walking the highway of strong and high endeavor. Just as planting an acorn will grow an oak tree, planting positive thoughts into your subconscious mind will grow you a Great business and a life, of wonder, harmony, happiness and success. It is common for people to think that they will attract what they want. Unfortunately, this is not true. You actually attract what you ARE. And of course, you are what you think about. The whims, desires and even strong passions you have can quite easily be thwarted by the thoughts you have about them. Last month, I ran into a friend who works as a clerk on the graveyard shift. After our conversation I suggested He visited my training site site. I suggested he read the books on the site along with watching some of our webinar training’s. After devouring the site, he mentioned that he was trying to create a vision for the future as I suggested – but all he could see was cracked mirrors. He asked me what I thought would cause that. I replied that the likely causes were watching too much TV (he nodded), reading the daily newspaper instead of positive books (he nodded again), hanging around with negative people (now he’s nodding furiously), or all three. ‘Busted,’ he says. Like a lot of people I know, he wants a better life, and often asks me for advice on how to get it. I used to give these people copies of “As a Man Thinketh” and suggest they read it. I discovered they never found the time. Then I switched to giving them the name, and suggesting they buy it themselves. Most never get it. They spend so much time in thoughts of negativity – being a victim – they don’t release those thoughts and replace them with thoughts of self-improvement. It’s a chicken or egg thing. They don’t buy the book because they don’t have positive thoughts. They don’t have positive thoughts, because they won’t read the book. You will find a lot of parallels in your business. You need to believe you’ll be successful or you won’t be. But you have to believe it before it happens. Most people fail because they can’t keep this positive frame of mind until they actually manifest success. They start out believing it, or at least thinking they do. Then one of their people drops out, a presentation goes bad, or their first guests never show up to the presentation. They don’t realize it then, but this is the absolute turning point of their career… They will see these things as a challenge to be overcome – or an insurmountable obstacle and quit. If they accept it as a challenge, they build character and persevere. Until they get a little success. Which gives them some more positive thoughts – that build their belief – that lead them to their next success – which builds their belief stronger. They are on a win/succeed cycle. If they view the situation as an insurmountable obstacle, subconsciously they will look for validation to fail. The economy is
